Syed Ali Shah Geelani’s speech in New Delhi, accompanied by Indian rights activist and renowned novelist Arundhati Roy, on Oct. 21, 2010.  In this event, Ms. Roy declared void India’s forced occupation and annexation of Kashmir, saying Kashmir is not part of India. The statement helped give a boost to the international cause of Kashmir. Geelani used this opportunity in the heart of the Indian capital to raise the slogal of Free Kashmir and expose the role of Indian military in the occupied territory.
