He came. He chose to escape. He can’t be trusted again.

ISLAMABAD, Pakistan—All the proxies carry a sell-by date. Mr. Pervez Musharraf, who used to fancy himself as a wizard and a maestro in Pakistan, was eventually deposed under a chalked US plan—– to replace him and install yet another proxy: Benazir Bhutto.

Sadly, BB was eliminated before she could even take charge from Musharraf. And even sadder — to comply fast with the orders given by his US masters— Musharraf hastily handed over the rein of government to a known band of goons of BB’s party.

Mr. Musharraf left the Pakistanis high and dry and this country is now caught up in the clutches of savages like Mr. Zardari who have been imposed upon Pakistanis, while, on the other hand, natural and man-made calamities like the devastating floods, inflation and power shortages are unleashing havoc. Pakistanis are expected to remain stuck in a state of turmoil for a long time to come.

Musharraf might be trying to capitalize on some goodwill he left behind in some areas like the economy. But realistically speaking, he is a spent cartridge and may not carry any reusable value. His case fits the saying, No spark may ignite the ashes and No charity may bring back the dead to life.

His one-million-sterling-pounds apartment near London’s Edgware Road is surely a good resting place, almost a resort, that he has selected for himself to spend the rest of his life. It’s close to residence of another US poodle, Mr. Tony Blare.

Reportedly, Mr. Musharraf is being looked after there, very well.

To some readers, this analysis may look flawed but this is the matter of truth which even Mr. Musharraf may not be fully refute or contradict.

These days the media is full of rumors of his return to Pakistan but, if at all he does return, may only do so riding the wings of USA. Pakistani democratic life may not accept him. For the US to bet on him again is also farfetched. As said earlier, all the proxies carry a sell-by date and he has already spent his time.

But if at all he is sent back, just imagine that what damage the US might inflict on this battered nation before someone like Mr. Musharraf could be reinstalled, if he is reinstalled.

For Musharraf; this Bridge seems too far
On Friday, first of October 2010, Pervez Musharraf could launch his new political party; All Pakistan Muslim League (APML). It was nice to watch him giving his party manifesto. This was a good presentation and seemed as once again those old days; (some people call them—golden days) that this nation once saw under his dictatorial rules were felt rolling back. Dictator he may be but most of the people count him; a sincere man. Let’s hope he proves to be an asset and once again brings a real light in the lives of people as he promises.

It is learnt that his telephone keeps on buzzing; the International as well as Pakistani freewheeling media is swarming in with his interviews request. He is being given a due coverage but after watching his certain interviews; so far he has not made any good impact on the masses. He carrys lot many heavy baggage from the past of his known follies, blemishing his image. Peoples are looking for real Messiah and a saviour. Let us wait and see that how best Musharraf will pave his way and land in the political arena of Pakistan of today; where supposedly only democratically elected governments may survive and rule.

Possibly there are three stomping grounds or the channels open for him:

    1) Through democratic way in national elections; where supposedly he needs some 175 national assembly seats for his party to simply form a coalition government. He may get at the most only 6 or 7 seats. Hardly there is anyone who may be a candidate for his APML from the campaign group of his facebook fans; rather it is expected that some 70% of facebook fans will like to abstain the voting on the Election Day. So Pervez Musharraf may have no luck here….!

    2) Next is his lateral entry or vertical landing in the country with the blessing of US that he may be directly landing in the power corridor of Islamabad, ridding the wings provided by his old US friends? I think that season of growing dictatorial fruit trees and their flowering previously seen blooming in his courtyard, whip into the shape as a US proxy is since over. Anyhow; all the proxies especially the military generals, they carry only one life on their account and he has spent one…..so there is no hope here too.

    3) Next is the case that Pervez Musharraf joins the team of known GHQ man— Pir Pagarro ‘s Muslim League where reportedly all other small ML parties, ML (Q) and possibly Imran khan of Tehrik e Insaf or JI are ganging up and Musharraf may also be asked to join them. Preparations are under way. It is likely that they may appoint him as their leader to head this new coalition. In this exercise; he may strike his luck to avail a chance and secure himself a non executive presidential seat. Provided this loose end coalition remains intact and wins.

So there is a long way to go and probably this bridge seems too far—-for Musharraf— where he may find many hurdles on his way created by the present ruling elites — seen training all their guns and arrows in his direction and threatening him to drag him to the altar of the courts to extinct him for his alleged follies that man also keeps on admitting.

But is there any reconciliatory NRO also available for the Maestro who earlier awarded to everyone and cleared the pathways to the seats of power for them that they are now relishing the most?

    Fully agreed with Fian

    Mr.Abbasy,

How he lives should not be an issue as he earned the living, he did not usurp, like your uneducated stooges. You must be a prejudiced, ignorant and stupid man to point a wrong thing on a very respectable army officer. You can dream to earn 300,000 USD per lecture. When someone leaves ther chair people talk things not attributed to him and this is nothing new. This country is full of people like you and exactly this is the reason we are lagging in human development and country development.

  3. Akhtar Malik says:

I think we should give Musharaf another chance, because now he will be a civilian leader without the power of military in his support. The judiciary and media are free and no one will be able to impose his unjust decisions on the public. Musharaf has many qualities to his credit as a human being and he just have to learn lessons from the past mistakes. If we can give chances repeatedly to parties like PPP and PML, why not Musharaf? I fully agree with Mr Akhtar. People generally learn from their past mistakes and improve upon their ways. Im confidant given a seccond chance, he would proove to be a much better option. and of course, if BB and Nawaz, have been given so many chances , and they have prove themselves to be useless, why can an honest man be given a seccond chance. Its about time Imran Khan mends his ways and joins hands with him, fo the good of the country.

  4. MOmin Ansari says:

I want to see him again in action … this time without any repeating of mistakes which he he did at his last days in power

  5. Bilal says:

NOW THAT PANDORA BOX OF N.R.O CASES HAS OPENED & ZARDARI + P.M RUSH TO ARMY CHIEF FOR HELP MUSHARRAF BEING USED AS A CHESS MOVE BY THE ANTI ISLAMIC LOBBY IS NOTHING NEW. ANTI ISLAMIC LOBBY CAN’T BEAR TO BE EXPOSED FOR ITS FILTHY PLANS IN PAKISTAN WHICH ARE EVIDENT TO BE REVEALED IN LEGAL PROCEEDINGS OF ABOVE CASES. NEITHER CAN THEY BEAR A POLITICALLY OR FINANCIALLY STABLE GOVT IN PAKISTAN. THAT’S WHY MUSHARRAF IS BEING USED. BUT COUNTING THE DAMAGES MUSHARRAF & HIS GROUP HAVE GIVEN TO PAKISTAN THEY MAY NOT GET THE EXPECTED NO OF VOTES. THE ONLY WAY TO REGAIN TRUST IN PAKISTAN IS STRAIGHTENING THE CONSTITUTION BY CLOSING ALL LOOPHOLES SUPPORTING CORRUPTION, CRIME & CRIMINAL AS WELL AS RETURNING OF LOOTED WEALTH TO PAKISTAN. & STOP ENFORCING POVERTY FAKE INFLATION NO JOBS LAWLESSNESS CORRUPTION & ALL THE MISCHIEF EXERCISED SO FAR. PAKISTANIS CAN’T BEAR ALL THE DOGMATISM BEING APPLIED TO BE REPEATED AGAIN.

  7. ONCE AGAIN, AS IN THE PAST, THIS “UN_LUCKY” COUNTRY IS BEING RUN BY THE P.P.P. THE COUNTRY LOST ITS EASTERN WING – I.E. EAST PAKISTAN – BY THE STRANGE POLICY OF “IDHAR_HUM, UDHAR_TUM” COINED BY ITS FOUNDER, THE LATE Z.A.BHUTTO.

AGAIN THE P.P.P. (NOW ITS THE PARTY OF “PILFERERS, PLUNDERERS & PARASITES” & NOT THE ORIGINAL ” PAKISTAN PEOPLES PARTY ” OF LATE BHUTTO.

BEFORE THE LAST ELECTION, MRS. BENAZIR ZARDARI (NEE BHUTTO) COINED A NEW WORD ” DEMOCRACY IS THE BEST REVENGE ” INSTEAD OF ” DEMOCRACY IS THE BEST REMEDY ” (AS OPPOSED TO ‘ DICTATORSHIP ‘ ).

NOW, FROM THE ACTIONS OF THE PRESENT P.P.P. GOVERNMENT, IT SEEMS THEY ARE TAKING ” REVENGE ” FROM THE PUBLIC EITHER OF THE DEATH OF Z.A.BHUTTO., MURTAZA BHUTTO, SHAHNAWAZ BHUTTO & BENAZIR BHUTTO AND THE POOR ” GULLIBLE PUBLIC ” ARE SUFFERING FROM THE REVENGE_FULL NATURE OF THESE ” PIPLIANS “. MAY ALLAH ALMIGHTY SAVES US ALL FROM THE VENDETTA OF THESE POLITICIANS & SAVE THE “GOD GIFTED COUNTRY” FROM ANNIHILATION, AMEEN.

  8. ABBASI says:

What other damages Mr. Musharaff desires to cause, that he has not done already done to poor Pakistanis. He should know from his experiance that the foreign hands invariably manipulate these sort of political gimmicks in Pakistan. Perhaps Mr. Musharaff could not drag Pakistan to the present mayhem the nation is suffering for their ‘care no less’ attitude.

Would it not be reasonable for Mr. Musharaff to look at and enjoy the expensive walls of his dream mansion in London, sit back and reflect upon the conduct that he treated the poor Pakistanis while sided with the oppressors and at times with the avid enemies of Islam. There is a limit for every greed and one need not keep telling the so-called leaders of Pakistan – Old or New!

My Dear Friend, I have read your posting about Musharraf’s Reusability with a carton, which can be your own thinking but seems beyond the truth. You may please update yourself and then comment on any issue.
Former President Gen. ® Pervez Musharraf ever advocated the reality and saved Pakistan from their enemies.
President Musharraf never compromise on our veracity, suzerainty, integrity, sovereignty, independence, defense, security and harmony He protected Pakistan from another imposed war by our rival India; he pushed back the eye ball to eye ball standing armies to take about turn by shaking his strong hand with the prime minister of India Mr. Vajpayee at UNO. He great ability to protect our country and lead our nation. He is the only knight in shining armor {THE SAVIOR} of us. All communities are willing to welcome him and he will get {Insha Allah} historical welcome reception upon his return and will be welcomed by every lover of Pakistan. He will receive a grand guard of honor much greater than the time he left in the interest of Pakistan. He gave several chances to others to do something in the best interest of Pakistan but everyone failed even in their spoken examination; we loosed every where… He is the SAVIOR and He is coming back, if he delays his return due to any reason, keep in mind that it would also be in the best interest of our country. Do not doubt upon him and please do not comment if you do not know him
    He is loyal and faithful
    Please understanding:
    Thanks and Regards
    Your well-wisher

The article by writer khokar is a cheap and without any truth. People who think in terms of democracy are totally mislead. Pakistan does not need democracy and democracy is a form of government of munafiqs, cheaters and usurpers. look at the biggest democracies, india, america, such form of government is not desirable in the real good world. Except for Mr ZAB no civilian government could withstand the pressures of fuedal lords in pakistan and there are no institutions which could create people like ZAB. Hats off to the only Pakistani institution, THE PAKISTAN ARMY which has produced people like Ayub Khan, Ziaul Haque and Musharaf. They have made mistakes but has fared really well and when you compare them to civilians, they are completely novice. Look today the situation of this country and curse the stooges for holding on to destroy the country. khokar should be writing for indian journals only.

  12. Your analysis may be correct but the poor people of Pakistan yearn for the days when there was electricity, food was cheap, and Pakistan was progressing at 9% per annum–and the total debts was being reduced from $37 billion to $34 billion. Today the debt stands at $65 billion and climbing.

There are no charges of personal corruption against. Mr. Musharraf lives in a very meager 3-bedroom apartment in a bad part of town called Edgeware. Compare to multi-million Dollar palaces of Sharif and Zardari. Mr. Musharraf’s son still works for a US company to earn a living. Mr. Musharraf was the first and possibly only head of state who declared all his assets–which were six houses (made from selling defense plots and inheritence).

    • Adeel says:

You are right but if you want to go back in time then go back to Nawaz’s era. Economy was thriving, electricity was available and everything was much cheaper than Parvez’s era. So, comparing Parvez with Asif is not fair.

When economy was on its feet, he unleashed Shaukat to tackle it who filled his briefcases and left. The value of Parvez’s “meager” apartment is Rs. 18 crore by the way and only one way props up to mind as to how a servant of the people can earn such amount during his lifetime. If you know any other legal means then please let me know; I would like to follow that way.

As for him declaring all his assets, I do admire him for that. He did declare in his book that he sold more than 700 people for $4,000. Applause for his honesty. NOT.

      • ibrahim says:

But what you are saying seems to be pure nonsense!! There might have been electricity in Nawazs time, but there was loot and plunder too with out any mercy!! thats why people like you welcomed Musharraf with sweets and toffees!! remember?? And of course you do remember, that the ameer ul momineen , emptied the coffers of the country, then froze all the peoples private accounts in Banks!! He should have been awarded for the former!
‘Shaukat’ did make some mistakes, but he did manage well, overall. The economic indicators were enough to prove it.
Remember the concept of “brain drain”, it was beacuse of policies of people like nawaz and BB.
Musharraf got back all the top Brains of Pakistan, who were working abroad, because we Pakistanis had nothing to offer them, till then. All the top Brains were asked to come back and serve their country! which they did. Some might have succeded more than others, but over all it was a good effort!
As for selling these bloody terrorists! I would sell them for RS 1.00 ( ONE RUPEE) to those who were targeted by them!
